East Court

The shop front of Batitude in Leatherhead has a black and white logo and a yellow awning

Started by Angus and Wanda Lloyd in 2009, East Court is a private fund supporting groups within 10 miles of Effingham focused on improving facilities and activities for young people or older people. Recently, the family have preferred to make nominated grants to local charities in Leatherhead.

East Court prioritises funding to the following areas:

  • Improving facilities and activities for young people
  • Building the capacity and skills of young people through training and development
  • Projects which support or improve facilities for older people

One notable grant was made to B@titude at The Hive, where a crafter turned volunteer after engaging with sessions around individual craft making and finding a new found confidence in themselves and their abilities.
