Our grants process

We support local charities, community and voluntary groups in Surrey whose work benefits our communities. We welcome applications from both new and established groups and also have one fund that awards grants to support individuals.

The grant funding we award is made possible by local donors, spread across 84 different funds. When considering your application, we will match it with the criteria our various funds have set across the county.

Grants for groups

Before you begin, read through our Guidance notes

This will give you a good idea from the outset of what we can and cannot fund.

Send us an Expression of Interest

Tell us what you want to do and how much you would like to apply for. Our grants team will review your Expression of Interest against our Fund criteria and aim to contact you within a week to advise you if we can invite you to make an application.

If you are invited to apply – complete the Online Application Form

After reviewing your Expression of Interest our grants team will contact you. If we are able to invite you to apply we will send you a link to the online application form and give you a deadline for your application. Complete the Online Application Form and attach your supporting documents.

Wait to hear

Once we have received your full online application and supporting documents we will process your application. During the assessment period, your application will be considered by our internal Grants Policy Group, before going to our donors who will make the final decision. Your application may be considered by several of our donor funds, we aim to give you a decision within 3 months of the deadline.

Report back on your project

If you receive a grant we will ask you to send us an End of Grant report. This report not only shows that you completed your project but helps us tell the world how you are improving our community.
