Surrey Family Foundations Network
Helping you to give with confidence.
A family foundation is a type of private foundation established and funded by a family, with family members often managing the foundation and participating in its grant-making activities. It's a structure used by families to hold funds and donate for charitable purposes. These foundations can last as long as the family needs them and may provide tax benefits.
As individuals or families, it can be difficult to identify the right charitable organisations to support to meet your philanthropic goals and be confident that your donation will be used effectively.
We have many donors who have funds with us who also run their own Family Foundations. In 2022 we set up the Surrey Family Foundations Network as a ‘safe space’ for people who give with their families to come together and share best practice. We run 2-3 events per year and membership of the network is free.

Private Viewings at Galleries
We have recently held private viewings at Watts Gallery in Guildford and The Lightbox in Woking — an informal opportunity to connect with fellow Family Foundation trustees and staff in a relaxed, art-filled setting.
