Neelam Devesher MBE DL is Chair of the Community Foundation for Surrey, with a strong record of public service, strategic leadership and community impact.

With over 30 years’ experience across the public, private and voluntary sectors, she has led major partnership programmes to widen opportunity, support vulnerable communities and drive positive change. She is committed to bringing organisations together to tackle complex social challenges and improve outcomes for those facing disadvantage.

Passionate about inclusion, equality and civic engagement, Neelam champions the values of fairness, respect and responsibility, and believes local giving plays a vital role in building resilient communities.

In recognition of her service, she was appointed Deputy Lieutenant of Surrey and will become Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey in September 2026, representing The King and celebrating those who make a difference across the county.
