20 Years of Impact: CFSurrey Celebrates Milestone with New Vision for the Future
On the 11th of September, the Community Foundation for Surrey (CFSurrey) proudly celebrated its 20th Anniversary – two decades of connecting local people who care with causes that matter. Since our founding in 2005, we have worked alongside communities, charities, and philanthropists to unlock resources that make Surrey a stronger, more inclusive, and more resilient county.
Our anniversary event brought together supporters, partners, donors, and local organisations to reflect on the achievements of the past 20 years – and to look ahead at what comes next.

20 Years of Local Giving
Over the past two decades, CFSurrey has:
Awarded more than £26.7 million in grants to over 6,100 projects across Surrey
Benefited an estimated 571 million contacts with individuals – many people receiving support more than once
Grown from distributing just £64,000 in grants in 2006/07 to awarding over £2.8 million in 2024/25
Built a permanent endowment of more than £15 million, ensuring long-term sustainability for Surrey’s communities
This remarkable journey has only been possible thanks to the generosity of our donors, the dedication of local charities, and the resilience of the communities we serve.
Launching Our Impact Report
The evening marked the official launch of our 2025 Impact Report, a landmark publication capturing the difference made together with our donors, partners, and communities. The report showcases not only the scale of funding awarded over the past year, but also the stories of people whose lives have been transformed.
From supporting young people into education and employment, to tackling mental health and social isolation, to strengthening grassroots community groups, the Impact Report is both a celebration of two decades of giving and a call to action for the future.
Setting Out Our 5-Year Strategic Plan
Alongside the Impact Report, we also unveiled our new 5-Year Strategic Plan (2025–2030). This forward-looking plan sets out four priorities that will guide our work into the next chapter:
Grow and thrive – building long-term sustainability for Surrey’s communities
Grow giving – encouraging philanthropy at all levels
Grow impact – using insight and evidence to drive change
Grow reach – ensuring equity and inclusion across all communitiesCFS Impact Report 2025 final
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate this milestone year, we are deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of our journey – donors, partners, community leaders, and volunteers. Together, we have built something extraordinary. Looking forward, we are excited to continue this journey with a renewed commitment to Surrey’s communities for the next 20 years and beyond.
