Shepperton Studios Funds celebrate impact in Spelthorne

Shepperton Studios Community Fund

CFSurrey is celebrating two years of the Shepperton Studios Education Fund, highlighting the positive difference it has made for children and young people across Shepperton and the wider Spelthorne area.

Launched in August 2024 with a £250,000 commitment from Shepperton Studios, the Education Fund supports film, media and creative learning across primary, secondary and tertiary education. The Fund forms part of Shepperton Studios’ Virtual Academy and aims to give young people the skills, experience and opportunities to explore the creative industries, with a particular focus on those who may face barriers to accessing them.

£44,190 has been awarded through the Fund since inception, benefiting 2,271 young people.

Grants have supported a diverse range of projects, including animation and digital storytelling, podcasting and multimedia production, performing arts and vocational skills for stage and screen.

CFSurrey is encouraging more schools and education providers across Shepperton and Spelthorne to apply to this Fund. Grants can support equipment, creative learning programmes and practical opportunities that help young people develop their digital, creative and communication skills. New funding for Shepperton Darts Academy

Alongside the Education Fund's anniversary, the latest round of the Shepperton Studios Community Fund has awarded £5,000 to Shepperton Darts Academy.

The funding will support vital training and equipment, as well as opportunities for members to visit major darts venues and experience competitions first-hand. It will also help the Academy welcome more children to its growing Monday and Tuesday sessions, where young people can develop skills, build friendships and enjoy taking part in the sport.

Jane Nash, Volunteer at Shepperton Darts Academy, said the funding will help the Academy continue to grow and described the organisation as the first academy of its kind in Surrey and London.

The £500,000 Shepperton Studios Community Fund was launched in 2022 to support local individuals, charities, social enterprises and community groups across Shepperton and Spelthorne. CFSurrey works in partnership with Shepperton Studios to identify and support local causes, make grant decisions and oversee the delivery and monitoring of funded projects.

The latest award brings the total number of Community Fund grants to 29, demonstrating the continued commitment of Shepperton Studios and CFSurrey to supporting local communities and creating opportunities for people across Spelthorne.

Apply for funding

CFSurrey operates one Expression of Interest process for its funds, so organisations do not need to specify which fund they are applying to. Our grants team will assess applications and advise whether a project is eligible to progress to a full application.

The next Expression of Interest window opens Monday 2 November and closes Friday 11 December 2026.
