Surrey Sanctuary Seekers Fund
Launched in early 2025, the Sanctuary Seekers Fund was created to support organisations working with refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants who are experiencing hardship, isolation, or discrimination. With growing need in our communities, the fund helps deliver practical support, wellbeing services, education, and opportunities for belonging.
Who can apply?
We welcome applications from:
Charities, CICs, CIOs, and constituted voluntary groups
Organisations based in or delivering services in Surrey
Projects that directly benefit sanctuary seekers
What we fund:
Grants typically range from £1,000 to £5,000 and may support:
Emergency needs (e.g., food, clothing, shelter)
Mental health and wellbeing programmes
English language learning and skills development
Social inclusion and community-building activities
Case studies for projects funded
Refugee Support Sutton
A grant enabled Refugee Support Sutton to deliver weekly English conversation classes and one-to-one mentoring for recently arrived asylum seekers, helping them gain confidence, skills, and a stronger sense of community.Elmbridge CAN
Funding supported their youth integration project, including workshops and holiday activities for young people from refugee backgrounds, promoting friendship, mental wellbeing, and educational engagement.
