Mole Valley Community Fund Welcomes First Patron

Tim Wates DL, Chairman of Wates Group

We are delighted to announce that the Mole Valley Community Fund (MVCF)  has just appointed Tim Wates DL, Chairman and Director of Wates Group, as the first Patron of the Fund.

The Mole Valley Community Fund provides sustainable funding for community projects and voluntary groups across the district, connecting local donors and businesses with initiatives that tackle need and disadvantage.

Supported by the Community Foundation for Surrey, the Fund helps organisations assisting older residents, families in need, and people developing new skills, ensuring that local support reaches those who need it most.

Commenting on his recent appointment, Tim Wates DL, Chairman of Wates Group, said

“Community has always been at the heart of our family and our business and we are proud of our Leatherhead head office. Becoming a Patron of the Mole Valley Community Fund is consistent with our aim to be brilliant locally.”

Alan Horden, Chair of the Mole Valley Community Fund, said

“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Tim as our first Patron. The Wates family’s deep connection to Mole Valley and their commitment to social values will help raise awareness and support for the Fund’s work.”

The Mole Valley Community Fund started in 2024 and has made a huge impact already, awarding over £29 thousand pounds in grants in its first two years of operation. The fund is entirely supported by local businesses and local volunteers who care about the area and want to support those most in need locally. MVCF welcomes local individuals, families, and businesses who want to make a lasting difference in their area to get involved.
