The Epsom & Ewell Community Fund was launched in 2015 by Chairman Chris Frost in his Mayoral Year as a lasting legacy that will continue to support those most in need in the area. In the 10 years since it was founded the Fund has awarded grants totalling £14,050 which have benefitted over 11 thousand people in total - what an amazing achievement!
The Fund Panel celebrated with a special breakfast event today with attendees from groups they have supported over the years like Sunnybank Trust and Stoneleigh Jobs Club. We also met several wonderful local companies who have helped the fund along the way. Thanks to the local Waitrose Team for coming along, and providing such lovely food. Thanks to Peacock & Co Solicitors too who have been a fantastic support in fundraising for the fund.
The fund is managed by the Community Foundation for Surrey but the fund panel consists entirely of local volunteers from Epsom & Ewell - and they are seeking a new Chair to take over now that the amazing Chris Frost, who founded the fund in 2015, is standing down. Do get in touch if you want to get involved.
It was a real pleasure to see Chris receive a very special Lord Lieutenant's Award today too - very much deserved for his vision in setting up the fund which is a forever fund for the area - to support those most in need in communities locally.
We look forward to watching how the Epsom & Ewell Fund continues to grow and succeed over the next ten years and beyond.
Community Foundation for Surrey Chair, Neelam Devesher said: “ We’re deeply thankful to Chris Frost for his vision in establishing this Fund, to the volunteers for their remarkable dedication, and to the donors for their generous support. Today’s event is a genuine celebration of what’s possible when compassionate individuals unite to help those in need within their community. Together, we can truly accomplish great things!"
