Collective Funds

Collective funds are giving vehicles that allow multiple donors to contribute toward a common purpose.

At the Community Foundation for Surrey, these funds enable us to combine resources from individuals, families, businesses, and other partners to support targeted, high-impact grantmaking across the county.

Our Collective Funds are grouped and listed by theme below.

Collective Fund by Theme

Support health and wellbeing in all of our communities

  • Supporting the scale-up of effective preventative programmes to improve the mental health of young people aged up to 30.

  • Supporting older people through local projects which combat social isolation, loneliness and disadvantage.

  • he Fund aims to enable access to Sport for all by supporting projects which encourage participation and remove barriers to taking part in Sports.

Grow more resilient, equitable and integrated communities

  • Supporting organisations in helping sanctuary seekers of all ages (refugees, asylum seekers, displaced persons, unaccompanied children).

  • A group of funds interested in helping charities and community organisations to undertake significant changes in how they operate – through new processes, relocation, partnerships or mergers.

Encourage pride and connection with Surrey’s local communities, natural landscape, culture and heritage

  • Supporting organisations using arts, culture and heritage to improve wellbeing in people of all ages.

  • This fund is being used as a trial run for the Creative Wellbeing Fund. Funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for 2 rounds of grants – aim for us to capture case studies to help build a case for donors in Creative Health fund.

  • Supporting projects which enable wider participation in Music and which are life enhancing. In particular, the Fund supports music projects which enable people to benefit that would not  otherwise have the opportunity to participate.

  • Enabling access to and engagement with the natural landscape of the Surrey Hills by people of all ages who might face barriers to access.

Improve life skills, education, employability and enterprise

  • Helping children and young people to build confidence and develop new skills, and access education and employment, with particular focus on skills gaps in the county.

  • rants of £300-800 to disadvantaged young people aged 18-24 which help ensure access to training & opportunities for young people in need. Grants include covering the costs of equipment for apprenticeships and college courses, or paying for qualifications to help a young person progress into their desired field of interest.

Address economic disparity and inequality

  • Grants to individuals (given via delegated pots of funding to organisations) which help overcome barriers to work for people with disabilities (e.g. travel costs, clothing, specialist kit, etc).

How to give

Collective funds are an effective way for donors to collaborate, amplify their giving, and create lasting change.

Don’t forget Gift Aid! Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, the Pooled Fund you are donating to, will receive an extra 25p from HM Revenue & Customs, helping your donation go further.
